WW Adult Application: Lavinia Blackwood - Lavinia Blackwood - 08-15-2025 ![]() General Information Character Name: Lavinia Mae Blackwood Type of Character: Adult Age: 23 Date of Birth: 9 June 1897 Residence: London, that dragon townhouse Family: Father: Rupert Blackwood Mother: Emery Blackwood Eldest: Wesley Blackwood 2nd: Gideon Blackwood 3rd: Archer Blackwood 4th: Hayes Blackwood Youngest: Lavinia Blackwood Occupation: Department Manager at Blackwood & Sons Personality & History Personality: Lavinia was born to be bubbly and fun. As the baby of the Blackwood clan, she is used to having a lot of eyes on her, watching her every move. Because of this, she didn’t have to worry about anything bad befalling her, as every single one of her big brothers would be there to prevent whatever disaster awaited. This fact has made her a bit carefree, and very light in regards to life. Probably a bit naive, too, because nothing bad ever happened to her. Despite that, she did know how to take care of herself; working in the environment she worked in, most of the patrons knew not to mess with her, but there was the occasional one who would try to get handsy and she would respond by punching him in the face. History: Lavinia came into the world unexpectedly, mostly because the Blackwood line had only seen the birth of boys for the past one-hundred-plus years. She grew up knowing that is what made her special, and she let everyone know it too. Vini soaked up the attention and loved that her brothers were protective over her (though she bickered with them about it all the time). She happily let her mum purchase all the fanciest gowns for her even as a child. Entering Hogwarts, Vini was sorted into Hufflepuff to no one’s surprise. The girl had always been very bubbly and friendly and was instantly well-liked. The attention was more than she was used to, but it was also very easy for her to grow accustomed to it. And then, at her fifteenth birthday celebration, her mum and dad announced that they had betrothed her to the son of a rich, Pureblood financier. Vini had seen the boy at various functions in the past, and knew his name, however she had no interest in him. She pouted to her parents that she didn’t want to marry him, and when they didn’t rescind the betrothal, she was angry. For the first time, her parents didn’t bend to her will and the girl wished she hadn’t been born a Blackwood. However, the wedding would never come. Harry graduated a year before Vini, and was immediately drafted to fight in the war. She’d come to terms with the fact that she would be marrying out of obligation and not love, so she was no longer cold to him because he told her he wasn’t happy with the arrangement either. A common ground is what the pair found, and while he was away he wrote to her often. Vini didn’t look forward to his letters, however she did expect them. Until one day, they just stopped. Knowing that Harry would just stop writing, Vini knew within a few days that he had died. Her parents were distraught that their arrangement had fallen through and looked at the girl like she was strange for not mourning her future husband. While her brothers went to war, all except for Archer who dodged the draft with a bum ear, Lavinia began working in the family’s gentlemen’s clothing shop. She had a way with their customers, especially those who frequented the bar in the back of the shop. And that is where she finds herself today; still single, unbetrothed, and spending the majority of her time serving drinks to men of stature. Prompt Response: “Miss, empty your handbag,” a frumpy, older woman said as she approached Lavinia, wearing a nametag that read ‘Mildred’. The girl stopped walking and turned, narrowing her eyes. “Excuse me?” she asked, unsure if she had heard the shopkeeper correctly. She couldn’t think of why the woman would be bothering her as she was on her way out of the store. “Empty your handbag, please, I saw you put a trinket in it,” the woman explained, looking down at the purse. A smile crossed the brunette’s face and she let out a laugh, finding it hard to believe that anyone would think she had stolen something. “You must be kidding me. I do not need to steal anything,” she commented and looked inside her bag. She began pulling items out one by one and setting them down on the counter. “I have a hairbrush, a compact mirror, some lipstick, a hair clip, and galleons. None of which are here,” she said, motioning to the store she was in. She raised her brow. “Are you sure you saw what you think you saw? Did you even see it at all?” she asked, looking around as she put the items back in her bag. Her eyes fell on a red-faced older man who was clearly trying not to look at her; she recognized him from the bar. Usually she saw him while he was intoxicated, but now he was totally sober and highly embarrassed, unable to keep his eyes to himself. A smirk crossed her face. “Ma’am, if your husband can’t keep his eyes locked on you then that is between you and him. Please do not put the blame on me. If he was happy at home, perhaps he wouldn’t go out every night for drinks.” Miscellaneous Other Characters Ruby Haswell, Alice Ravenstone How did you find us?
