History:
Matilda Faye Nordstrom is a sassy girl with red hair and blue eyes. She is the only child to her parents, who tried for years, suffering losses, but finally having their precious little girl. As one is, being the only child, she is always right and always in charge. She was born and raised in Rye, East Sussex to a Squib father and Witch mother. Thomas, a professor, at the local college and Dotty a stay at home Mum live a modest life, but want for nothing. They have a happy home filled with love and laughter and the occasional magical spell to keep the garden growing. Dotty, only used magic when Thomas wasn’t home, since magic was a sore subject in the house.
Matilda, or Tilly as she was sometimes called, has known about magic from an early age and started showing signs at the age of 5. Simple things like flowers changing colors or a bloom exploding into petal confetti when she was holding it and angry. While at first her father seemed excited about her new talents, as time has gone on, he has shown resentment for her magical abilities.
School has always been good for Matilda. She made friends easily and hates reading. Science was her best subject especially if they were doing anything outside in the garden. History was boring, but she listened {not really} because it was totally important. She was excited to actually learn about important and interesting things when she got to Hogwarts.
Her first few years were spent learning the basics and getting her footing in the castle. She immediately found a love for the greenhouse, often spending her free time there, tending to the plants and attempting to grow new species. She loved maintaining the plants for the Infirmary, knowing that healing plants was important for the castle.
Matilda has a smart mouth and a sassy nature. She wasn’t afraid to tell you what she thought, oftentimes speaking up when not warranted, or not wanted. As a pureblood girl, she didn’t follow the same strict standards that some families expected.

Roleplay Response
Prompt 1:
The garden was her heaven. No one made fun of her for being short. That stupid 2nd year Snake wasn’t around to pull her hair. The portraits didn’t suddenly move, freaking her out. No, the garden was safe. Known. Beautiful and blessedly quiet. The halls of Hogwarts gave Matilda a headache on a daily basis. Finding a quiet place to just “be” was difficult, but the garden never disappointed.
The tulips were a favorite this time of year. Bright colors, big blooms with bees and butterflies fluttering around doing their pollinator duties. Matilda took a deep breath in and smiled…
"You blasted rat! Where are you?"
No… Just… No.
She sighed and shut her eyes as her sanctuary bubble burst into a thousand pieces. She looked in the direction of the voice with a glare, she was magical, why exactly was he not on fire right now?
Her beautiful flowers were being pushed aside and more than likely damaged by his careless behavior. BOYS!!
She would not yell. She WOULD NOT throw a rock at his big head for ruining her day. One deep breath in. One deep breath out.
It was the sneeze that took her out of her brain. Matilda’s eyes focused on the boy in front of her just as he wiped his nose on his robes.
GGGRRRROOOOOSSSSSSSSS
There was no stopping the eye roll and sneer that was directed toward this disgusting male annoyance. She expected this type of behavior from her 4 year old brother.
"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."
Her arms crossed over her chest and a large puff of air left her lungs as she continued to glare.
“Yeah, well it’s also not nice to trample the tulips you big stupid OAF! What is WRONG with you!? Why are you even…”
It was at that moment that all the pieces clicked into place. His earlier statement coming to the forefront of her mind.
“Wait… did you say… rat?”
*GULP*
She wasn’t scared of rats. She wasn’t scared of ANYTHING, but rats had, you know… diseases and fleas and other things that were bad. It was just common sense. Everyone in their right mind knows these things.
Looking around in a totally not frantic and spastic manner Matlida saw a stone bench a couple feet away. With a completely nonchalant {scurring} movement she calmly {frantically} stepped {jumped} onto the bench.
“So, umm. It’s not like, here right?” She asked in an imploring tone.
