Classroom Description

The Defense Against Dark Arts classroom is quite plain; since they will be duelling, and wayward spells could potentially destroy things, there is no point in decorating. The lighting is dim, and the desks are arranged in columns and rows, however there is a big open area in a square that does not have any furniture in it; this is where duelling happens.

Rose's desk is at the front of the room, and constantly has books piled high on top of it. The blackboard is large and always has some sort of spells scribbled on it. The air smells of chalk, stone, and the burning scent of spells from terms before that still linger in the air.

Next to the blackboard are practice dummies; these are usually the targets for the students, though there are times when they do duel each other.

The back of the room contains a large, antique, wooden armoire that is always locked. Inside is where Rose keeps practice wands, protection amulets, and other things that can assist in defending oneself from dark magic.
