Class Rules
In Character:
- Arrive on time.
- No food is allowed in the classroom. You may bring water.
- Always have your wand; it is very important.
- Do not aim spells at your classmates unless directed to do so.
- No goofing off; that could mean life or death when it comes to defense.
Out Of Character:
- If you want to disrupt a class, please reach out before doing so.
- Do not powerplay; always ask permission before doing something to someone else's character.
- We are all adults with real lives; be respectful of that.

Grading System
To pass this class, you must earn at least 20 total points and post in at least one lesson. Each lesson is worth up to 20 points; the things that are considered when grading are the amount of times you post (four times for a chance to get a perfect 20) and the quality of your posts.
If you are worried about passing, you may pick from the extra credit opportunities to help with your grade. You cannot pass solely with extra credit.
Honour Roll at the end of term is decided by selecting the students with the top five grades. If there is a close tie between some, extra credit will be taken into account for the scores.

About Your Professor
Professor Roisin Byrne (the formalities bother her, so please feel free to just call her Rose, or miss) joined the faculty at Hogwarts last term after the Head Nurse quit after only two months into term. This year, however, she has decided (after the dangers from last year), that she should use her auror training and teach the students how to defend themselves against the dark arts. She graduated from Hogwarts in 1910 and immediately began working towards becoming an auror.
How to Reach Me
If you need to reach out to me, you can do it in a couple ways. You can PM me on here; I do get notifications sent to my phone. Or you can hit me up on our Discord. I am Roisin Byrne on the server, or directly @applejaxie.
