Professorship Information
Personality:
He's quiet. Unusually quiet, according to the students who roam the castle and watch him. He'll have moments where his smile will barely surface from the depths of his unkempt beard, but it'll quickly fade as his mind machinations resume at full speed.
His inner Slytherin is buried deep. Quite deep, according to sources closest to him. While he has no particular attachment to rules or regulations when it comes to achieving results in his own research, he tolerates very little disruption when it comes to the students breaking rules in his presence. It's less about the morality and integrity of the rules and more about having the space around him free and clear of disruptive elements.
Less they disrupt his train of thought once more.
Who he is stems from the death of his family. A once hardworking young student who focused heavily on the more active schools of magic like Charms and Transfiguration, the sudden demise of his family had him delve deeply into Divination. It led him all over the world, analyzing different regional magic in an effort to accomplish his goal.
To fill the hole in his heart.

Prompt Response:
A student hasn't turned in any form of homework for the entire term, so you have called them into your office to talk about it.
"So, I hear you have an issue completing homework when it's due."
Emil hovered over his bookshelf, poking around in between his own personal books in search of the extra copies of the textbook for class. A scoff of annoyance. He hadn't organized his collection in quite a while, but the student seated behind him had forced him to walk into his office and pick things up. It wasn't about waving a wand and putting everything where it should have been. When it came to his books, it was the kind of chore he liked to handle personally. He enjoyed the feel of the hard cover in his hand, the various notes sticking out of the margins. Occasionally, he would flip to one of the notes and get lost in the pages.
Tonight's circumstance did not allow for such dalliance.
"Well, unfortunately for you, it's a requirement for passing my class. And I've recieved no less than seven separate letters from what I can only assume are concerned family members. This one in particular," he said, holding up an envelope torn open at the edge, "I was surprised by. I don't know how you managed to finnegal a Wizengamot member to write to me. Apparently they forget we meet often enough as is."
Finally finding the extra copy of a book he colloquially dubbed "Potions for Dummies", he dropped the book onto the desk of the student.
"I've spoken to your Head of House and we've come to an agreement. You now have two choices. You can either, one, refuse to do the assignment I will give you and fail my class. In which case, believe me I will gladly acquiesce. If you choose this option, I fully expect you to write to all these recipients about how you willingly chose this outcome."
He dumped all the letters, including the Wizengamot-sealed one, onto the student's desk.
"Or you can stay here and copy the first 5 chapter of this book by hand." He reached into his jacket and swung open his pocketwatch, glancing at it before shifting his gaze back to his student. "It's now Friday night. You've until Sunday night this time to finish."
He flourished his wand, producing a cot with yellow blankets in the corner of his office.
"You're not to leave this room until you're done. The house elves will bring food every two hours. I guess they'll also check if you're alive. The bathroom's over there behind the desk.
"Try not to make a mess."
